INDIANAPOLIS (Tuesday, February 11, 2025)
Penske Entertainment announced updates to its leadership team to help the organization grow.
Key changes include:
Doug Boles brings decades of motorsport experience to his new responsibilities, including being the President of Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 2013. At IMS, he oversaw the sellout of the 100th Indianapolis 500, the first full-capacity crowd in the event's storied history. In addition, he's managed more than $150 million in strategic investment at the Racing Capital of the World, including "Project 100" and significant infrastructure improvements following Penske Corp's acquisition of IMS.
Boles is known for his marketing skills and has increased the global reach of the Indy 500. He has experience with Panther Racing and Hulman & Company, helping lead Panther Racing to multiple race wins and championships. He has over 20 years of leadership experience in various areas of motorsports.
"Doug is the right choice to lead both INDYCAR and IMS as we look to the future," said Penske Entertainment President & CEO Mark Miles. "He's a strong leader and motivator who is respected by fans, owners, drivers, and partners."
Boles expressed, "Racing is my passion, and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES is especially meaningful to me. I am honored to lead the INDYCAR team and believe we have exciting opportunities ahead in 2025." Boles steps in as President of INDYCAR as Frye leaves after 10 successful years. During Frye's time, he secured important sponsorships, developed new safety measures, and oversaw a larger and more competitive grid.
Frye said, "It has been an honor to serve as President of INDYCAR. The success we achieved in the past decade is thanks to the hard work of everyone involved."
Boles will report to Mark Miles. As he manages the strategic direction for INDYCAR and IMS, other staffing updates will help with daily operations.
Mark Sibla will lead operations and special projects as Senior Vice President of INDYCAR Competition and Operations. He has been part of INDYCAR's management for over ten years.
Kyle Novak will enhance his role as Vice President of Officiating and Race Control. He will lead the teams responsible for enforcing rules in INDYCAR and has been the Race Director since 2018.
As INDYCAR looks to boost its visibility through FOX Sports, Alex Damron will lead marketing efforts as Chief Marketing Officer. He will manage marketing and communications while also overseeing public relations for Penske Entertainment.
